CONNECTING WITH GOD

Worship

At Starting Point we understand that worship is more than Sunday morning music! We seek to encourage worship in our daily lives; to make worship a priority every day. Then when we have worshiped all week long, our corporate times on Sunday will become an even greater blessing.

We do believe you should leave church feeling as though you have encountered God Himself during the service, and to accomplish this we use music, prayer, Scripture readings, drama, Bible teaching, and a host of other methods to turn the focus of our thoughts from ourselves to God. Sunday morning church should be the highlight of the believer’s week! Visit one of our services and find out what it’s like to go to church with God!

What Is A Life of Faith?

Coming to faith is the process of:

1. Realizing and confessing that God needs to have first place in your life and asking Him to forgive your failures and sins.
Romans 3:23, I John 1:9

2. Believing that Jesus Christ is God’s Son; that He died to pay for your sins; and that He rose again and is alive today.
John 3:16; Romans 10:9

3. Accepting God’s free gift of salvation without trying to earn it.
Ephesians 2:8-9

Our relationship to God is not restored by anything we do, but on the basis of what Jesus already did for us. Please contact us if you have any questions concerning your life of faith in Christ.

What Is A Life of Full Devotion to Christ?

Full devotion is a journey that believers should be engaged in for the rest of their lives. In essence, it is establishing right relationships in all areas of our lives. These key areas in establishing full devotion to Christ are:

Spiritual Growth

Developing the character of Christ and becoming more loving, honorable, courageous, and integrity-filled people.
Galatians 5:22; Ephesians 4:12-13

Small Groups

Finding true community by experiencing true spiritual transformation that only happens in the context of relationships with other believers.
Acts 2:42-47; John 13:35

Serving

Developing the spiritual gifts that God has given to all that follow Him, which enable them to lovingly serve one another.
Ephesians 6:7; 2:8-9

Stewardship

Realizing that all we have is really His and that all we really have is Him.
I Corinthians 4:2; II Corinthians 9:6-15

New to Jesus?

How do I become a Christian?

What do you get up for in the morning? What are you looking for in life? How will you handle the really tough times? Hard questions don't have easy answers, but they do have an answer. That answer is ultimately found in the God who created the universe and loves you unconditionally. How do you find that God? How do you reach Him? This is the Good News: God has come looking for you! He has reached out to you!

Saying "Yes" to God begins with your desire to respond to His gracious Gift of Jesus Christ. Here are some ways to help you do just that. Discover for yourself life the way it was meant to be. Receive God's Gift today! Admit that you need a relationship with God.

The Bible says:
There is no one who always does what is right, not even one ... Romans 3:10. All have sinned and are not good enough for God's glory, ... Romans 3:23.

STEP 1

Believe that God's Son Jesus Christ makes possible your having a right relationship with God. There is nothing that you can do, no matter how good or great, to ever restore your relationship with God. God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity.

2 Corinthians 5:19

STEP 2

Confess your sin to God and accept His forgiveness. Everyone of us have chosen to live our lives like we want to, taking charge, ignoring God, pleasing ourselves. That's what separates us from God. That's why we need His forgiveness. You can have forgiveness of your sins through Jesus.

Acts 13:38

STEP 3

Dedicate yourself as a fully devoted follower of Christ. Receiving God's gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ will set you in a direction exactly opposite of the one you've been going in because now you're following Christ.

Jesus said, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

Luke 9:23

STEP 4

Express your faith in Christ publicly. What God does for you in His Son Jesus Christ is the greatest thing that will ever happen to you. It requires a clear confession that you have given Him your very life.

”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:9

STEP 1

Believe that God's Son Jesus Christ makes possible your having a right relationship with God. There is nothing that you can do, no matter how good or great, to ever restore your relationship with God. God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity.

2 Corinthians 5:19
